X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) - Warren Worthingon III (Ben Foster) |
Director Bryan Singer again posted concept art on Instagram from the upcoming X-Men: Days Future Past sequel X-Men: Apocalypse. He also has a feature in the upcoming issue of Empire Magazine. It points to a character that was a major part of the comic book storyline. While we don't know all the artists, the signature is that of Keith Christensen who's working on the film.
Keith Christensen is a concept artist who's worked on big-budget films like Man of Steel (2013), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

The character of Angel has a long history in the comics besides appearing in X-Men: The Last Stand. Warren Worthington III is one of the founding members of the mutant X-Men and has blonde hair and bird wings growing out of his back. Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac) uses genetic engineering to turn mutants into his "Four Horsemen." He turns Worthington into "Archangel" representing Death. Archangel has a healing factor and razor sharp metallic wings replacing his white ones. Singer confirmed that Angel will make an appearance, played by Ben Hardy, but it's unknown if he'll be transformed into the blue-skinned Archangel. He did add that "he's not a very nice Angel! And that's all I'll say..."
Here's what Angel and Archangel looked like in the comics, so there's a definite techno-feel to the costume and the colors are gone.
