Edge of Tomorrow (2014) concept art by Kev Jenkins |
The designs of the alien Mimics and military exosuits were a major part of the film. Kev Jenkins, a professional concept artist, matte painter and art director who's worked on major films like Superman Returns (2006), Underworld (2003) and Clash of the Titans (2010), helped design them from the early stages. He recently shared the artwork on his blog.

"I was brought on by [Warner Bros] at the very early stages of the production. Initially working with Doug and then Oliver when he joined. I led the team that helped concept develop the exosuit which took about six months of work, some of the images had all of the team participating under me due to time constraints . Special mention to Chris and Sam who collaborated on some of the models." - Kev Jenkins

Official Edge of Tomorrow Summary
"Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy. Liman is directing “Edge of Tomorrow” from a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie and Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth, based on the novel entitled All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka."
