Check out Edge of Tomorrow concept art by Tim Browning!
The newest Tom Cruise movie, Edge of Tomorrow, is based on the Japanese young adult novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The movie has been critically acclaimed and has made over $140 million worldwide. One of the artists that helped to visualize the film is Tim Browning and he recently shared some of his concept art on his Krop site. The studio almost named the movie after the book and you can see the original name in the concept art. Browning is a professional concept artist who's worked on big budget movies like Skyfall (2012), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Alice in Wonderland (2010).

Official Edge of Tomorrow Summary
"Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy. Liman is directing “Edge of Tomorrow” from a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie and Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth, based on the novel entitled All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka."

Wow...just WOW! Thank you so much for posting this; I loved EDGE OF TOMORROW and thought the designs for the film were fantastic. Then again, maybe I'm biased in favor of the film because I loved the "source" novel "All You Need Is Kill".
ReplyDeleteThanks ScopeDog. I just started reading the “All you need is Kill” manga and if it’s anything like the book it must be incredible.
