James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is a hit and the popular character "Peacemaker" played by John Cena is getting an HBO Max spin-off. Entertainment Weekly recently shared the first photo from the eight-episode HBO Max series, which premieres in January.

So this is a good time to share some concept art from the movie. Shane Baxley shared a few illustrations that show some major changes. The most obvious one is Robert Dubois aka Bloodsport (who Gunn named "Vigilante" in the script to throw people off). In the movie, he has his comic accurate skull helmet but the illustrators played around with different designs. Plus Doctor Gaius Grieves aka  Thinker looks pretty much the same except the artwork shows him as smaller and pudgier than Peter Capaldi. These were probably done before he was cast.

Shane Baxley is a professional concept artist who's worked on cinema pictures like Alita: Battle Angel (2019), Captain Marvel (2019), and The Predator (2018).
