Check out Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace concept
art by Doug Chiang!
While developing the Star Wars prequels, writer-director George Lucas knew that visualization was an important part of the film process. Even while beginning the writing process Industrial Light & Magic art director Doug Chiang began reviewing the thousands of designs for Episode I. Lucas wanted the film to be "like a period piece, since it was the history leading up to" the original Star Wars (1977).
Doug Chiang is a professional concept artist and art director who's worked on major motion pictures like Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1992), Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) and War of the Worlds (2005).

Pretty awesome. The visuals in that movie are impressive. And C3PO has a more retro look than in the final version
