Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) concept art by Goran Bukvic |
The movie Guardians of the Galaxy features many aliens, but there two that don't show up. James Gunn told Pointless Podcast, "Marvel only partially owns the Skrulls. And also, for the record, we don’t own the Badoon either. So people are asking why we have a Sakaaran in the film and we don’t own the Badoon."
The blockbuster Marvel film is making waves and one of the talented artists working on it shared his artwork for alien weapons on his Facebook page.
Goran Bukvic (AKA CrazyBrush) is a professional concept artist who's worked on major projects like Tron: Evolution, Halo 4 and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team--the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits--Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand--with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Awesome artwork, of course. Haven't seen Guardians yet. Don't know if I will...
ReplyDeleteWe had a discussion over dinner last night. With the Star Wars stand alones coming up, there is promise of a Han Solo movie. Whom, among today's available talent, would you cast as a young Han? I bring it up here because Chris Pratt was my wife's first choice.
Amazing artwork. The weapons were impressive. I think I liked everything Rocket came up with.
